2. Related introduction

Silicon carbide has four main application areas, namely: functional ceramics, advanced refractory materials, abrasives, and metallurgical raw materials. Silicon carbide is available in large quantities and cannot be considered a high-tech product, while the application of nanoscale silicon carbide powder, which has a very high technical content, is unlikely to form an economy of scale in a short period.

(1) As abrasives, they can be used for abrasives, such as grinding wheels, oil stones, grinding heads, tiles, etc.

(2) As metallurgical deoxidizer and high-temperature resistant material.

(3) High purity single crystal, which can be used for manufacturing semiconductors and making silicon carbide fiber.

Main uses: for 3-12 inch single crystal silicon, polycrystalline silicon, potassium arsenide, quartz crystal, and other wire cutting. Solar photovoltaic industry, semiconductor industry, piezoelectric crystal industry engineering processing materials.

Used in semiconductors, lightning rods, circuit components, high-temperature applications, UV detectors, structural materials, astronomy, disc brakes, clutches, diesel particulate filters, fine filament pyrometers, ceramic films, cutting tools, heating elements, nuclear fuel, jewelry, steel, protective gear, catalytic stretcher, etc.

1. Abrasives

Mainly used for making grinding wheels, sandpaper, abrasive belts, oil stones, grinding blocks, grinding heads, abrasive pastes, and grinding and polishing of monocrystalline silicon, polycrystalline silicon in photovoltaic products and piezoelectric crystals in the electronics industry, etc. 

2. Chemical

It can be used as a deoxidizer for steel making and a modifier for cast iron organization and can be used as a raw material for manufacturing silicon tetrachloride, which is the main raw material for the silicone resin industry. 3. "Three resistant" materials

The use of silicon carbide has corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, high strength, good thermal conductivity, impact resistance, and other characteristics, silicon carbide on the one hand can be used for a variety of smelting furnace lining, high-temperature kiln components, silicon carbide plate, liner, support parts, sagger, silicon carbide crucible, etc...

4. Non-ferrous metals

The use of silicon carbide has high-temperature resistance, high strength, good thermal conductivity, impact resistance, for high-temperature indirect heating materials, such as the firm tank distillation furnace, distillation furnace tower plate, aluminum electrolytic tank, copper melting furnace lining, zinc powder furnace with arc plate, thermocouple protection tube, etc. 

5. Steel

6. Metallurgy and mineral processing

Silicon carbide is second only to diamond in hardness and has strong wear resistance, which is ideal for lining wear-resistant pipes, impellers, pump chambers, cyclones, and hoppers. The rubber service life of 5-20 times is also one of the ideal materials for the aviation runway. 

7. Building materials ceramic grinding wheel industry
