SIC：

A. Electrical application.Silicon carbide can be used for making silicon carbon rod and other heating elements,nonlinear resistance elements, all kinds of lightning rod plate.
B. Chemical application.Silicon carbide is decomposed in molten steel and reacts with oxygen and metal oxides in the molten steel to form carbon onoxide and silicon slag. Generally, low-purity silicon carbide is used to reduce costs. Therefore,silicon carbide can be used as deoxidizerfor steel making and tissue improve for cast iron.

C. Used for making abrasive, due to the high hardness, chemical stability and toughness of silicon carbide.Therefore, siliconcarbide can be used in the manufacture of cemented carbide grinding tools, oated grinding tools and free grinding tools,processing glass, ceramics, cast iron and some non-ferrous metals, cemented carbide, stone, titanium alloy, high-speed steel tools and grinding wheels.

D. Used in refractories and corrosion-resistant materials -- mainly because of its high melting point (decomposition),
chemical inertia and heat resistance to vibration.Therefore, silicon carbide can be used as grinding tools, and ceramic
products can be fired into shed plate and gravel used in kiln, crucible, aluminum electrolytic cell line, silicon carbide
